Line Of Business: Personal & Commercial Banking Job Description The Banking Associate is a professional in banking who delivers TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. Responsibilities (Depth & Scope) Performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. Delivers end-to-end advice that builds trust with educational content and tools, provides consultative support, and offers proactive insights and recommendations. Utilizes TD systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to attract, and retain the customer. Understands customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products/services or refer to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner while ensuring a positive customer experience. Accurately completes everyday banking transactions on the teller line or platform, uncovering customer needs and educating on products and services or referring to the appropriate expert. Services customers on the teller line and platform as needed, including opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, debit/credit card issues, Regulation E, and mobile and online banking. Connects with customers, provides financial advice, and deepens relationships through lead management activities, including self-generated leads and referrals, outbound outreach, appointments, and lead prioritization. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity (volunteering, education, military experience acceptable) Demonstrated customer service skills preferred Ability to work during operating hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Teller experience preferred Required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire Strong organization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills with concise, clear, and consistent messaging Problem-solving, scheduling, prioritization, and independent work capabilities Sound judgment in decision making Proficient in Microsoft Office Notary License preferred Accountabilities Customer: Consistently provides legendary customer service, promotes TD products, and educates customers to meet needs. Establishes and nurtures relationships with product knowledge and active listening. Manages wait times to meet with a Banker by scheduling or rescheduling client meetings. Acts as lobby leader and primary contact for customer inquiries, coordinating walk-ins and resolutions or appointments. Supports the Bank's customer service strategy and ensures compliance with policy and procedures. Drives referrals to Store colleagues and partners to address broader financial needs. Completes required training and maintains compliance with audit and regulatory requirements. Complies with TD Code of Conduct and risk/control programs. Shareholder & Employee Accountabilities Ensures compliance with guidelines such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk. Processes cash/deposits/withdrawals and other account servicing requests. Performs daily transactions and maintains accurate cash handling controls. Adheres to open/close procedures and required controls and due diligence for new accounts. Fits within policy for customer authentication and dual control when required.
