Job Title: Cleanroom Assembler / Manufacturing Associate

Job Description

As a Cleanroom Assembler / Manufacturing Associate, you will help manufacture life-saving medical devices used in aortic surgeries. Working in a highly regulated, clean, and technology-driven environment, you will assemble extremely small and fragile components using microscopes, precision tools, and digital work instructions on an iPad. This role offers structured training, clear procedures, and the opportunity to grow into a skilled medical device assembler or manufacturing technician.

Responsibilities

• Assemble stents and related medical device components according to detailed written procedures and work instructions displayed on an iPad.
• Work in one or both production areas: stent assembly, where wire is wrapped and formed into precise stent shapes and treated with chemicals and processes to maintain shape, and cleanroom grafting, where a super-thin film is carefully wrapped around the stent structure.
• Use microscopes, calipers, tweezers, micrometers, and other hand tools to handle and assemble extremely small, delicate, and fragile parts with high precision.
• Follow step-by-step production processes that may include 30 or more individual steps, starting with simpler procedures and progressing to more complex tasks as training and certifications are completed.
• Perform inspections and quality checks on parts and assemblies to ensure they meet strict medical device standards and specifications.
• Handle, clean, and package components and finished products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cleanroom protocols.
• Accurately document work performed, including completion of electronic records and forms in English, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Strictly follow all cleanroom rules, including gowning procedures and contamination control practices, to maintain a controlled environment with low levels of dust, microbes, and chemical vapors.
• Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and company policies related to medical device manufacturing, including proper handling of chemicals and tools.
• Collaborate with a production team of approximately 56 colleagues, working at various stations and supporting others as needed to meet production goals.
• Seek guidance from designated floor resources (such as ACEs) when questions arise or when additional support is needed to perform tasks correctly and safely.
• Demonstrate patience and persistence in mastering complex assembly techniques that require fine motor skills and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Use technology comfortably throughout the workday, including navigating procedures and training materials on an iPad.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace and cleanroom standards.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in assembly, ideally in medical device manufacturing or small-part assembly.
• Comfort using technology and working from an iPad throughout the day to follow procedures and training materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working under a microscope on intricate and precise tasks.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to handle extremely small, fragile components and delicate materials.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well in order to understand complex training, follow written procedures, and complete documentation.
• Willingness to work in a highly regulated environment and follow strict rules and regulations associated with medical devices that go into patients’ bodies.
• Ability to work patiently through a steep learning curve and to practice techniques until they are mastered.
• High level of reliability and commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in medical device assembly is a plus.
• Experience working with microscopes and small-part assembly is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with processes such as salt and sand baths, bead blasting, laser cutting, and electro-polishing is beneficial but not required.
• Good general technical aptitude and an interest in computers and digital tools.
• Hobbies or experience that demonstrate fine motor skills and attention to detail, such as jewelry making, nail art, painting, or other detailed crafts, are considered valuable.
• Experience with inspection, cleaning, and packaging in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment is an advantage.
• Understanding of basic GMP concepts and quality-controlled environments is helpful.

Work Environment

The role is based in a medical device manufacturing facility in Santa Rosa. You will work in both standard production areas and a controlled cleanroom environment designed to minimize dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles, and chemical vapors. The facility adheres to strict regulatory and quality standards typical of medical device manufacturing. The dress code includes smocks, hair nets, gloves, shoe covers, beard nets as applicable, and other cleanroom attire. No open-toed shoes or shorts are allowed, and long sleeves or over-the-shoulder sleeves are required. For contamination control reasons, no makeup or perfume is permitted, nose piercings must be removed, and jewelry must be fully covered while in the production and cleanroom areas.

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Santa Rosa,CA.
