Director, Communications

The Director, Communications is responsible for shaping and leading the Enterprise communications strategies both internally and externally. This also includes deliverables focused on finance, M&A, investor relations, sustainability and philanthropy. This role will drive enterprise-wide communications initiatives and ensure the organization communicates effectively during moments of change, growth and transformation. The role also includes supporting and leading select projects and strategies across the broader corporate communications landscape.

This role reports directly to SVP, Human Resources and VP Investor Relations & FP&A

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with business priorities and enterprise goals
  • Work closely with VP of Investor Relations and team to develop and implement financial/investor communications strategies
  • Full support on specific investor relations communications needs; including earnings, investor days, events, etc. and posting of external communications as needed
  • Lead development of executive communications, including CEO/CHRO/CFO messaging, organizational announcements, and key business updates
  • Crafting editorial content and press releases
  • M&A communications support (i.e., internal & external communications support and communications project lead for acquisitions and other strategy-related initiatives)
  • Project leadership on ITT's annual sustainability report – acting as a Project Manager for the report content/communications
  • Town hall organization & support (both finance function and enterprise support)
  • Manager external partners and agencies as needed
  • Ad hoc project support as needed – i.e., annual ITT Awards and Board of Directors/Committee materials reviews, et al
  • Develop appropriate metrics to ensure data-driven approach to measuring communications impact
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10 – 15 years of progressive experience in Corporate Communications with strong communication skills (written, editorial and verbal)
  • Proven experience advising senior executives and leading enterprise communication strategies.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills including organizational savvy, with the ability to influence all levels of an organization
  • The ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously – with a focus on quality and speed
  • Strategic thinking, judgment, and sound decision-making with an ability to manage against tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to create and implement comprehensive communications programs
  • Ability to communicate leveraging a variety of channels and for a range of audiences - effective working cross-culturally
  • Ability to think creatively and resourcefully in developing and implementing plans and deliverables
  • Proven track record of collaboration, inclusiveness, innovation and drive for results
  • Strong relationship-building with humility and the highest ethical standards
  • Continuous improvement mindset; stays curious and continually looks for opportunities to improve processes and execution

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual salary range is from $161,000.00 - $257,000.00, plus benefits & incentive plans.
