About this opportunity: We are seeking a Construction Project Superintendent to join our Kalamazoo office. The Superintendent’s responsibility is to supervise the construction of a project, or projects, and to complete the work with a high degree of quality, on schedule, and within the budget. Job responsibilities include: Scheduling and Coordination of all subcontractors, vendors, consultants, etc. Team Management and Mentorship. Ensure all subcontractors adhere to safety policies and all OSHA regulations. Ensure all quality control standards are met. Coordination of all required inspections. Ensure the project stays on schedule. Provide schedule updates using Microsoft Project and 3 week look ahead schedules. Attend all OAC meetings. Conduct weekly or bi-weekly subcontractor meetings. Complete daily logs and take progress photos. Maintain good relationships with Clients, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, and Inspectors. Proficient with Procore, Microsoft office – Excel and Word, Outlook. The ideal candidate will possess: Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and/or equivalent industry related degree and at least 5 years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role. Construction Background: An understanding of construction means and methods. Experience reading plans and specifications. Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Candidate must have superior organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and decision-making skills. Tech know how: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore or equivalent, Microsoft Project or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Initiative: Self-motivated and have the ability to stand alone on projects. Team Player: Ability to positively contribute in a team environment.
