Job Summary Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets to close the business. Duties/Responsibilities Complete accurate take-offs, prepare estimates based on the bid schedule and direction from the lead estimator, and quote jobs on time with assistance from sales. Help maintain a "jobs to bid report" and a "follow up" report, attend the weekly sales meeting. Communicate regularly with sales, customers, and specifiers to confirm and clarify project scope and specifications prior to completing the estimate. Prepare prints, quotes, and RFQs (requests for quotes) for potential customers. Responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services. Assess material, labor, and equipment required and analyze different quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Perform other duties as assigned. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. Proficient in the company operating system software (Titan). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Physical Requirements This is a largely sedentary role which frequently requires one to stand and walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distant vision, and color vision. Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
