Position Summary The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise-level network infrastructure. The role involves assisting in planning and execution of network projects, troubleshooting complex network issues, ensuring high levels of network performance and security, and contributing to documentation, change management, and industry best practices. The position requires occasional travel within the Dallas‑Fort Worth, TX metroplex. Essential Responsibilities Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers. Create documentation for customer projects. Install and configure systems. Perform server and network maintenance. Provide client end‑user support. Participate in hardware and software rollouts, end‑of‑lease upgrades, and critical projects to maintain technology readiness. Manage and monitor status of server backups. Respond to user needs and questions. Participate in initiatives, meeting deliverables and quality standards on time. Lead cross‑functional initiatives, meeting deliverables and quality standards on time. Create system design documents. Estimate system‑level and enterprise solution work efforts. Deliver personal tasks on time and lead the delivery of tasks for natural or cross‑functional workgroups. Design, develop, and implement complex business rules. Fulfill end‑user requests. Provide off‑hour coverage and emergency support as needed. Maintain an inventory of all electronic components. Operate under deadlines with high workloads. Provide guidance and training to less experienced individuals. Work independently. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Minimum five years of proven hands‑on network engineering experience. Regular local travel. Strong knowledge of multiple infrastructure and inter‑networking methodologies. Technically proficient in switching, routing, security policy (firewall), and load balancing technologies; act as an internal consultant. Strong focus on network security and segmentation, with the ability to support environments subject to multiple industry‑specific compliance requirements. Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS). Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model. Excellent business acumen. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high volume of incoming requests. Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including occasional Saturdays and evenings. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of urgency. Hands‑on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools. Proficiency with the following devices (ability to design, implement, and support): Cisco Catalyst switches Cisco Nexus switches Cisco ASA‑X Firewalls Cisco FTD Firewalls with IDS/IPS & FMC Cisco ISR4451‑X F5 BIGIP I Series Load Balancers with VCMP Aruba Wireless Infrastructure (IAP) Preference Experience / Skills Experience with critical facilities (electrical, HVAC, physical security). Strong understanding of virtualization environments (ESXi and Hyper‑V). Strong understanding of computer communications, networks, and protocols. Knowledge of Storage/SAN, Compute, and .NET Web Application management. Knowledge of Cisco Meraki and firewall programming. Knowledge of Azure and AWS. Physical / Mental Requirements Sit frequently at a desk. Perform frequent fine hand and finger movements (keyboard, writing, mouse). Maintain close visual acuity for reading. Hearing and speaking for communication within and outside the company. May be required to lift, push, or pull up to 70 pounds during setup or movement of office equipment.
