Odyssey House is seeking a Full-Time Admissions Medical Assistant!

Pay: $21.00/hourly

Schedule: M-F 10:00am-6:00pm

Requirements:

Licensure / Education / Prior Experience / Skills Required:

? Certified Medical Assistant (or experienced Medical Assistant)

? Willingness and ability to pass a criminal background check

? First Aid and CPR Certification (available at Odyssey House)

? Must comply with annual TB tests and Flu immunization (and others as required).

? Must meet employment eligibility Core competencies

? Strong organizational and time-management skills.

? Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

? Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

? Effective communication and teamwork skills.

? Knowledge of medical terminology, medication management, electronic health records, and Tebra documentation workflows.

? Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health and substance use treatment environment.

Position Responsibilities:

? Coordinate and facilitate the admissions process, including creating and maintaining patient profiles, building Tebra documentation templates for scheduled admissions, scheduling appointments, and managing daily clinic schedules.

? Collect, document, and maintain accurate patient information, including medical histories, vital signs, laboratory results, medication records, and other clinical documentation within the electronic health record.

? Reconcile outside medical records, assessments, prescreeners, and other supporting documentation to ensure continuity of care. ? Communicate effectively with state medicaid and restricted medicaid departments.

? Perform point-of-care testing, urine drug screens, tuberculosis testing, specimen collection, and other approved clinical procedures.

? Verify, document, and maintain patient medication records, including on-hand medications, medication inventories, medication administration records (QMARs), prescription refill coordination, and same-day medication requests.

? Communicate patient information, test results, and clinical concerns to nursing staff and medical providers in a timely and accurate manner.

? Coordinate appointments, referrals, and required documentation with pharmacies, medical providers, and community healthcare partners.

? Monitor and respond to clinical communications, including electronic messages, open tasks, and documentation requests.

? Maintain laboratory, examination, and medication storage areas by cleaning, sanitizing, stocking supplies, monitoring inventory, and ensuring proper disposal of medical waste and medications.

? Complete medication destruction procedures and required documentation in accordance with agency policy and regulatory requirements.

? Support admissions and clinical operations through ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and participation in required meetings and training.

? Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, agency policies, infection control standards, and accreditation requirements.

? Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality patient care, patient safety, and efficient clinic operations.

Physical Demands of the Job: Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., sit for prolonged periods, and perform light to moderate physical activity at times.
