Green Bay Advanced Oral Surgery and Implant Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Oral Surgery Assistant to provide exceptional support during oral surgery procedures. This role involves chairside assistance, patient monitoring, surgical instrument sterilization, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive to detail, and eager to grow professionally, with potential advancement to Implant Coordinator.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Surgical Assistance & Patient Care:
Assist in oral surgery procedures: Work alongside the surgeon during oral surgeries, including extractions, implants, and other complex procedures.
Surgical Instrument Sterilization: Ensure all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use according to safety protocols.
Vital Signs & Patient Monitoring: Take record of patients vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature) before, during, and after procedures.
IV Sedation Oversight: Assist with IV sedation procedures, monitor patient condition throughout the sedation process, and respond to any changes in status

Biopsy Submission: Collect biopsy samples and submit them to laboratories to analysis, following proper protocol.
Treatment Planning: Assist in the creation of complex treatment plans, ensuring all necessary data is gathered for the surgeon's review.
Data entry: Accurately document patient information, treatment details, and surgical notes using medical terminology and our electronic health record system.
Clinical Duties:
Inventory Management: Track and maintain the supply inventory for the surgical room and office, ensuring all materials are stocked and ordered as needed.
Room Cleaning & Preparation: Clean and disinfect surgical rooms and equipment between procedures and maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Patient Payments & Finances: Collect patient payments, assist in the setup of payment plans and process any billing details as directed.
Follow - Up with Patients: Provide follow - up with patients on post - operative care instructions, appointment reminders, and treatment plan updates.
Administrative & Front Desk Support (cross training):
Phone Management: Answer phones, provide accurate information to patients, and direct calls to the appropriate departments
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, ensuring all details are entered correctly into the system.
Referral Processing: Process referrals from other dental or medical professionals, ensuring all necessary information is accurately communicated.
Patient Messaging & Follow-Up: Respond to patient messages, ensuring timely follow-up and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Processing Collections & Payments: Manage patient collections, set up payment plans, and send statements for outstanding balances.
Insurance Claims: Assist with insurance claim submissions, follow up on unpaid claims, and provide necessary documentation.
Medical Record Request: Process requests for medical records and send them to the appropriate parties required.
Front Desk Coverage: Provide occasional front desk coverage during peak times, ensuring smooth patient flow and customer service.
Mail & Package Processing: Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages in an organized and timely manner.
End Of Day Letters: Sending end of day letters (EOD) letters to referring providers with updates on patient status and procedures.
Future Responsibilities:
As you gain experience, there is the potential for this position to evolve into the role of Implant Coordinator, overseeing patient communications and the management of dental implant procedures.

Salary Range

full-time $20 - $25 per hour

Shift & Schedule

Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Weekends: Closed

Requirements
  • Basic life support
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum one year of oral surgery or dental assisting experience preferred
Current CPR certification (mandatory)
Strong familiarity with medical terminology and surgical instrument handling
Ability to monitor IV sedation (training or experience preferred)
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a patient-centered approach
Comfortable with data entry and electronic health records
Willingness to learn administrative responsibilities and cross-train

Preferences
  • Implant Dentistry
  • X-ray / Radiography Certification

Certification in dental or surgical assisting (e.g. DAANCE)
Experience with sedation procedures
Additional certifications related to dental radiography or implantology
Previous experience in implant surgery settings
