The Alexander Review is a digital literary publication building a scalable, brand-driven publishing enterprise at the intersection of literature and high-end design.

We are redefining what a literary journal looks and feels like, moving beyond traditional formats into a space defined byminimalism and intentional storytelling.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Social Media & Community Manager to lead the voice and presence of The Alexander Review across digital platforms.

This role goes beyond posting content; it’s about translating a refined literary brand into an engaging digital experience , building a thoughtful community of writers and readers, and supporting the growth of a modern publishing platform.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and maintain social media accounts (Instagram, X/Twitter, etc.)
  • Design clean, on-brand visuals using tools like Canva (or similar)
  • Write engaging, thoughtful captions aligned with our editorial tone and brand voice
  • Monitor accounts, respond to comments/messages, and foster meaningful community interaction
  • Track post performance and provide simple engagement insights
  • Collaborate with the editorial and publishing teams to promote:
    • New issues
    • Writer opportunities
    • Workshops and events

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong written communication skills (this is very important)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Basic design skills (Canva or similar tools)
  • Interest in literature, writing, or publishing
  • Ability to maintain a consistent and refined brand voice
  • Organized and able to manage tasks independently

Commitment:

This is a remote volunteer role requiring approximately 3–4 hours per week . We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months to ensure consistency and continuity. Work is flexible and can be completed asynchronously, with occasional coordination with the team as needed.
