Mid to Senior Level Tax Accountant | Kansas City Area | Hybrid A well established, family owned tax and accounting firm with 30+ years of history in the Kansas City market is looking to add a Mid to Senior Level Tax Accountant to their team. About the Role This is not your average tax accountant position. The firm processes thousands of returns annually for small to midsize businesses and individual clients, and they are looking for someone who wants to grow into something, take on real ownership, and help shape what the role looks like long term. Leadership and increased compensation are expected, not just possible. What You Will Do Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns including 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, and multi-state filings Provide year round tax planning and strategy for clients and businesses Manage and review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and on time delivery Represent clients before the IRS and state tax agencies when needed Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations Maintain general ledger accounts and record day to day financial transactions Prepare and process payroll accurately and in compliance with tax reporting requirements Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including P&L, balance sheets, and trial balances Maintain internal controls and ensure financial records comply with company policies and regulations Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing timely and high quality service What You Need Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3 to 5 years of public accounting or corporate tax experience Must have 1040 experience along with 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1041 multi-state filings Subject matter expertise in corporate, partnership, individual, or trust and estate taxation Proficiency in Drake, QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office Experience in client facing and team management roles Strong foundation in tax law, compliance, and tax research High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ability to perform under pressure What Is In It For You Base salary $65K to $75K plus commission with $100K+ expected in year one Company paid health insurance premiums in full Company matched 401K Three weeks PTO plus major holidays Hybrid schedule with flexibility built in Real growth path with leadership and equity on the table long term Culture of respect in a firm that has been a trusted KC name for over 30 years If you are a tax professional looking for stability, real earning potential, and a firm that will actually invest in you, this is worth a conversation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
