Job Title: 3rd shift Assembler

Job Description

The 3rd shift Assembler builds subcomponents and finished products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, using hand and power tools and an overhead crane to assemble metal components. This role requires following assembly drawings and schematics, working safely with a team member, and performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble subcomponents and finished products by following established procedures and work instructions.
  • Build and fit metal products using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Operate an overhead crane to move and position larger units and components safely.
  • Review assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics to determine required parts, quantities, and proper placement.
  • Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure accurate assembly.
  • Work in a fast-paced production and assembly environment to meet daily production and quality targets.
  • Collaborate closely with a team member to fulfill product orders and complete units each day.
  • Lift, position, and secure components weighing 50–60 lbs or more, including lifting 40 lbs independently.
  • Perform regular physical activities such as climbing, standing, walking, reaching, and extending arms for extended periods.
  • Use hands frequently to handle, control, and operate hand tools, power tools, and related equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating tools, equipment, and overhead cranes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with 5S principles and facility standards.
  • Identify basic mechanical issues during assembly and communicate them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to production schedules and shift requirements, including potential overtime when needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience assembling mechanical products or components in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for metal assembly and fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane to move and position larger units (training provided as needed).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand how parts fit and function together.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced production and assembly setting.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more, including lifting 40 lbs independently, on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, reach, and extend arms for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands frequently to handle tools and operate equipment safely.
  • High school diploma or GED, or willingness to obtain one within the required timeframe after conversion to permanent employment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience building or assembling heat exchangers or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
  • Previous experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with 5S principles and working in a clean, organized production facility.
  • Comfort working in a team-based environment and coordinating tasks with a partner.
  • Willingness to participate in a structured training program to learn processes and equipment.
  • Interest in completing or obtaining a GED through a company-supported program, if needed.

Work Environment

The role is based on a clean, organized, and spacious manufacturing floor where all sections are clearly labeled by materials and production processes. The facility is climate-controlled and strongly focused on 5S, maintaining a neat, safe, and efficient work area. Positions are available on 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m., with possible overtime on Friday). Work involves frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and lifting, as well as regular use of hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes on a large production floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
