What You’ll Do Project Leadership & Innovation: Leading the Traffic Control Department and building a Traffic Control team. Manage the Traffic Control component for major roadway projects from concept through completion, ensuring optimal quality, budget adherence, and schedule compliance. Work one on one with contractors. Evaluate design challenges from a constructability and biddability perspective, and propose innovative, cost‑effective solutions. Perform in‑depth traffic control design analysis and quality control reviews of construction plans, quantities, and submittal documents. Conduct technical meetings and field reviews, collaborating seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams in drainage, structures, signing, pavement marking, signalization, lighting, and utility design. Client Engagement & Marketing: Play a pivotal role in marketing efforts to win new work. Attend social events and conferences to network, build relationships and secure new work. Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, expanding our portfolio of projects across FDOT Districts 1, 2, 5, and 7, Florida’s Turnpike, the Tampa Bay area and more. Inspire and guide the next generation of engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that champions continuous improvement and professional development. Strategic Project Management: Track project progress with meticulous attention to detail, managing budgets, and forecasting backlog projections to ensure sustained success. Who You Are Educational & Professional Credentials: B.S. in Civil Engineering with 10‑25 years of experience in roadway design and construction. A Registered Florida Professional Engineer (PE) with experience on FDOT roadway projects. FDOT Advanced MOT Certification Technical & Interpersonal Excellence: Strong technical writing, planning, and organizational skills. Familiarity with FDOT roadway design criteria and standards is essential. A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with strong leadership and communication skills. Adaptable & Results‑Oriented: A collaborative team player who excels in fast‑paced environments and is adept at prioritizing tasks while managing multiple project facets.
